Maybe you’ve done all the Wainwrights and now you want to tick off the Outlying Fells. Maybe you’ve not started yet and you thing you’d like to build up slowly. Maybe you’d just like to keep walking late into the year and not worry about big days on big mountains. Or maybe you just want to see the beautiful quiet corners of the Lake District on an Autumn day.
This Seat Robert walk takes in 5 Outlying summits (more about these in my blog!), across undulating moorland with views across Swindale. and the Shap fells. Late in the year we will still see lots of plant species, see the rewiggled river in Swindale from above, maybe see a few red deer and some birds of prey.
Part of the Autumn series, this is a walk for anyone with a sense of adventure and a desire to explore.
11.5 km, 300m height gain, grassy moorland occasionally pathless
