New dates and locations for 2026.

30 April - 1 May 2026

A two day, one night introduction to Wild Camping. We will explore the hills around the Ettrick valley in the peaceful Scottish Borders, carrying everything we need with us. We will be free to choose how far we walk, how many hills we climb and where we pitch our tents for the night. This is intended as an introduction so you do not have to have wild camped before, though it will be an advantage to have camped in a campsite. This is intended to be educational as well as an adventure so will be look at how to choose a good camp spot, how to pitch your tent, what to eat, what to wear, how to go to the toilet and all those other questions you need answering! As such this adventure includes an evening advice session via video call, a couple of weeks before the event where I can answer questions, help you decide what and how to pack.

£165 pp - 2 bookings needed to run, maximum 4 places

For this trip you will need to provide and carry all your own camping equipment,. The focus will be on fun and learning rather than making a long journey. If you are missing some camping equipment which would prevent you from coming please let me know as I do have a lot of both kit and knowledge about kit so I should be able to help .

Two new guided walking holidays in the Scottish Highlands

These guided walking holidays are a simple way to meet up with fellow hillwalkers, and to enjoy the hills with a qualified and experienced walking guide.

For 2026 we’ve teamed up with Graham Uney Mountaineering to offer these Scottish Highlands breaks, which means that on any holiday you could have either Graham Uney or me (Sharon Kennedy) as your guide. Don’t worry if you are firmly “Team Tortoise” the we start together, we stay together and no one gets rushed applies to all our walks.

Each holiday is based around a town or village giving you the freedom to select your own accommodation. There will be a range of B&Bs, guesthouses, a hotel or two, and a campsite, and some will have a youth hostel or bunkhouse too, giving you the choice of where to stay. Some days we'll just walk directly from the place we're staying, but if not we'll use buses where possible, or perhaps car share if we want to travel somewhere more remote or further afield.

There's no fixed programme for any of these holidays - we simply go out into the hills with the intention of enjoying the local Munros, Corbetts, Grahams, or perhaps a pleasant stravaig up a glen or into an ancient woodland. The weather will dictate where we go to some extent.

All you will pay us for this is a 'guiding fee' per person. So check out what the dates are for these guided walking holidays in 2026, then get in touch to book yourselves in. Group bookings are also very welcome, and if there's more than four of you we might be able to accommodate you on other dates too!

Current dates:

25 - 29 May 2026 - Hills & Glens of Braemar

12- 16 September - Discover the Trossachs
