Mountains and Glens of Braemar

A guided walking holiday in the Scottish Highlands

These guided walking holidays are a simple way to meet up with fellow hillwalkers, and to enjoy the hills with a qualified and experienced walking guide.

This week offers five days of walking, some longer days out and at least one gentler day. If you are new to Munros, love a wander though pine forests and taking time to listen to the birds, could sit by a burn watching the water flow by, or you just want to get up some bigger hills with some nice people then this one may be for you.

For 2026 we’ve teamed up with Graham Uney Mountaineering to offer these Scottish Highlands breaks, which means that on any holiday you could have either Graham Uney or me (Sharon Kennedy) as your guide. Don’t worry if you are firmly in Team Tortoise, these walking days are at a comfortable pace no matter who is in the lead.

There are so many superb walks in the Braemar area. We have 5 days to explore. We’ll meet up on the first morning for a quick chat over coffee and make a plan for the week, but likely walks (and the possibilities are endless!) might include the Munros either side of the Cairnwell Pass, Lochnagar, An Socach, Carn Bhac, or Carn a’ Mhaim, while the woodlands around Linn of Dee and Linn of Quoich offer some of the most beautiful examples of ancient Caledonian pine forest in Scotland. There are lots of good accommodation options in Braemar too, accommodation is not included, we will send you an accommodation suggestion list when you book.
