Introduction to Wild Camping Adventures

A two day, over night back packing adventure for Wild Camping newbies, and no longer newbies who just like the sound of an awesome adventure.

Always wanted to try wild camping but have more questions than answers?

Team Tortoise is heading into the Ettrick valley in the Scottish Borders - eliminating one of the big concerns people may have about wild camping - is it legal? In Scotland it is, in England and Wales it is tolerated under certain circumstances. This just takes that worry away, oh and did I mention - the Borders are beautiful!

The total maximum distance for this 2 day walk is 20km - around 10km per day. A manageable amount with the option to shorten this route at various points. The route is undulating but I would describe these hills as gently rolling grassy slopes.

You will need your own camping kit for this trip but if you are struggling please ask, I do have some spare bits. There will be lots of time to talk kit when we are in camp and you can take a look at anything I have to see if you like it.
