Kirk Fell was one of my later Wainwright achievements, it sort of got left behind as it stands alone, or seems to get incorporated into massive days out. We are going to do this the way I first visited this fantastic place, as a solitary objective, well deserving of its own day. Starting from Honister, a firm favorite due to the added elevation gained before we even get our boots on. We will head up past the bustle of the slate mine and associated adventure activities, into the heart of Lakeland.
PIcking up the historic route of Moses Trod we pass below Gable Crags and up onto Kirk Fell. After visiting the summit we will explore the plateau a little before retracing our steps to the cafe below!
