Around Ennerdale

A gentler walk for all with a sense of adventure. Autumn rambling with no big mountains to climb but plenty to look at. This low level route is a sociable outing for those who want to keep walking through the later months. Today we will explore Ennerdale, the valley with the quiet lake, surrounded by soaring mountains. Find out about the Wild Ennerdale project and the wonderful conservation work on going in this peaceful valley. Learn about it’s return to nature as it’s use as a reservoir has come to an end. Traditionally start of day 2 of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Route where walkers have to chose which side of the lake their route takes, we get the best of both worlds and go all the way round.

Autumn is magical in Lakeland and there are some fabulous places to explore without climbing any mountains.

Everyone welcome, £39pp , 12km and 125m of height gain some rocky paths and a lot of easy tracks.
